Stockholm
Hejsan frengers! Wow. What a tour it has been. This must be the best UK tour we ever did. In spite of most of us being sick in one way or another (a lot of colds and sore throats, not to mention Bo’s ear flu) we had an amazing time playing and you guys were so great to us, most wonderful audience ever! It helps, you know. The more into it you guys are the more it reflects on our performance. So thank you for that! And you’ll be glad to know that we’re all back in good health.
Can’t believe we sold out Shepherds Bush Empire… who would have thunk?
We made a short stop at something called the Livingstone studios (somewhere in an unlikely part of London) on our day off from the UK tour and spent a day there recording an alternate version of The Zookeeper’s Boy. On this track our own good doctor (I presume) really showed us his merits and performed not only on the piano and singing but also pulled out a violin and several strange old instruments to add texture and atmosphere. I brought you some pictures of the event. The song is sounding great! You can really hear the song-structure and harmonies. This version is going to be a download only version (you know, on iTunes, etc.) at some later point. If you like The Zookeeper’s Boy I think this is something you would enjoy!
Here are the lyrics for Drown:
Drown, drown
While our entire race
Collide Norway so light
Bent up, slide them down
Love slides lie sleeping
Drown, drown
Shine some light on me
Drown, drown
This time you will make them see
Some witch called Why
What? Is it you?
I know: love your lady
Drown, drown
You can drown, drown, drown
And here are the lyrics for Killer:
Every night
Household pain, apartment so lonely
Set me right
Snow filled streets that harbour a killer Boarding pass
Far from here you walk through
His meadow
Every night
Stone cold hands provide you with shelter Singing peaceful
From your voice I fashion a snow sled
Going so fast No one sees it leads to disaster
Don’t let me go Don’t let me go
Someone in need
There’s a killer on the street
You know who
And you reach for the light switch: power dead!
Meaning to do
Can you separate the two?
Well you knew it would come
And it looks like tampering
Fall as you may
You will never see the daylight again
Is it just like the Tiger nightmare?
Grey bed, walk in the sunshine’s stead
Walk slow, don’t let them catch you whole Why should I stay?
Wash your lies away
That’s all for now! Have a wonderful day.
