2009 – The Year of Mew

2009 is going to be filled with new albums from wonderful bands all over the world – Mew is no exception. We are currently waiting for some exciting news to be announced from them. In the coming weeks we will learn about the name of the upcoming album, song titles and eventually we’ll get the first single, a music video to it and the actual full-length album. By the time it arrives, it has been almost four years since the last release – And the Glass Handed Kites – which turned out to be one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2005. Some rumours have suggested that the next album would come out as early as in March, but April-May seems more realistic. We know nothing yet, though.

Mew is also working on live shows and booking them as we speak. There will be some summer festivals and a proper tour that will see two or three continents. The tour is most likely going to kick off from Scandinavian area – that’s a safe bet. If history repeats itself, we will see two or three gigs in each of the Nordic countries (minus Iceland): Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. There could also be some gigs in Central Europe, but United Kingdom, USA, Mexico and Japan are expected to be on Mew’s tour schedule.

We haven’t gotten many comments to these posts, feel free to comment anything you like!
